Man Utd are close to agreeing a short term loan deal for Spurs left back Sergio Reguilon. With Luke Shaw suffering a long term injury that could see him sidelined for 10 weeks, and Tyrell Malacia also unavailable, Utd are desperately exposed at left back.

Utd had been in talks with Chelsea regarding a similar loan move for Marc Cucurella but were unable reach an agreement. It’s thought Cucurella’s Carabou Cup appearance against Wimbledon which subsequently would have cup tied the Spaniard was also a factor in Man Utd walking away from the deal.

Man Utd actually came close to signing Reguilon from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, but opted for Brazilian Alex Telles instead.
